Bunbury's inaugural Tournament of Chocolate was held last Saturday 20th August and was, as you can imagine, well attended. Players of all ages were given two chocolates at the commencement of play and were required to put up one piece at the beginning of their matches. If they won they shared the spoils with their playing partner- if they lost they had to go begging for more from the tournament referee or the town clown (the writer). Many additional chocolates were awarded during play for things as varied as the luckiest unintentional winning shot to great sportsmanship, good etiquette to umpiring as a volunteer.
A very social afternoon was enjoyed with a few refreshing drinks and nibbles at the conclusion of play.
A huge thanks to Rosemary Smith for organising and facilitating on the day and Robbie Italiano for all his umpiring and assistance.
