Summer Pennants 2022-23 Finals

Mar 20, 2023

Well what a night it has been!! All of our teams played off to determine their final place on the ladder.

Bunbury Appliances had a comfortable win tonight to relegate Rosemont Park Studs to the bottom of the ladder after the latter took the pennant in the summer of 2021/22.

The Soul Team, who had struggled to keep their team together all season after having experienced a horror run of injuries, fell short tonight. A special shout out to Mark Dhu and Daniel Hamon, who put in 100% all season despite the odds. Smack That ended up victorious on the night to secure 3rd place.

The Grand Final was played between Forrest Dental and SW Isuzu Smashers. The Smashers came tearing out of the blocks, winning the first 3 games of the match. Nigel Smith chalked up the first win for Forrest Dental but by the end of the 8th game, the Smashers were 5-3 up with 4 game to play. An absolute corker of a match between Thomas Rowland/ Ernie Sunga and Rusty Richards/Shayne Spalding saw the latter have the game within their grasp at 20-16. However Thomas and Ernie dug in and fought back to level the scores at 20 all. And from there it was a shoot-out!!! Point for point it went until Thomas and Ernie finally took the game 29-27. Match score 5-4 to The Smashers with 3 to play. By the end of the match the scores were drawn 6 games all and it came down to Aces won.

Forrest Dental won by 1 Ace over SW Isuzu Smashers to take the Summer Pennant for 2022-23.  season performance.

Congratulations to Daniel Hamon on winning the most improved player for the season.

Stephanie DePassey took out the Ladies Highest points scored again this summer, whilst Joel Gragasin claimed honours over the men with a consistent season performance.

Thanks to all players who participated his season, with a special thanks to all our reserves, who often were called in at short notice to fill in.

Winter Pennant trials are on the 1st May 2023 with the first matches of the season scheduled to commence on the 8th May.
