So today this happened. After Pennants this evening, under the eyes of the majority of our pennant players, with Life Members Minnie Italiano and Anne Strachan watching on, a presentation was made.
Robert Italiano called on one of our long serving Committee members, Rosemary Smith, to come forward.
Rosemary has been a part of our Association for more than 30 years and during that time she has not only held the Treasurer's role over two periods for a total of 13 years, but has
sat on numerous fundraising and sub committees.
Her passion for the sport and our Association is unwavering, from representing the
Bunbury & Districts Badminton Assoc at state tournaments, to Australian Masters and, on three occasions, World Masters Games ( two of which earned her individual gold medals). As if this wasn't enough, in recent years she has put her extensive teaching experience to good use in coaching our up-and-coming young players.
Life Member Robert presented Rosemary with an Honorary Life Membership certificate along with a B&DBA Life Member badge pinned on by fellow Life Member Anne.
Life membership in our Association are hard earned, with only 6 other Life members living being awarded this honour.
Congratulations
to Rosemary for an outstanding contribution to the success and prosperity of Association.
