This week's matches signaled the end of the first round and an indicator of where teams are in their quest for this year's pennant. Nearly all the matches this year to date have been very close affairs and this week's results are no exception.
As we head into the Christmas break SW Isuzu Smashers are in a strong position after their win this week to challenge the current top-of table Rosemont Park. These two teams don't meet again until the 17th January so sparks could fly on this night.
Bunbury Appliances have just been plain unlucky, with all of their matches very close and could have gone either way. Their match against top-of-table Rosemont was only lost by one game and a few extra points, an indicator of how close all the teams are when playing at their best.
As we head into the Christmas break we would like to wish all players a happy and safe Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Our first pennant night for 2022 is the 10th January, when we commence round two of fixtures. Many thanks to all players for being involved in our summer pennants season-if you do get withdrawal symptoms keep an eye on the WhatsApp group posts for Monday night play. And don't forget our social playing times as posted on our website.
